St.Paul's Cathedral

On Tuesday morning, we received a guided tour of St. Paul's Cathedral. During our tour, we were stopped because it was prayer time. I though that was a special moment because it was unexpected. I was glad to be apart of it. The cathedral that stands today is the fifth one to be built. The cathedral before it, was destroyed by the Great Fire of London. (St. Paul's Cathedral)
What I Learned: I learned that Christopher Wren died before the completion of the Cathedral and that his son helped complete it. Inside, there is a beautiful dedication from Wren's son to his father.

Belgravia Police Station

Later that evening, we made our way to the Belgravia Police Station where we were given a lecture by Officer Nick Nunney. Even though we were very tired, we managed to stay awake and take in the presentation."The origin of the British police lies in early tribal history and is based on customs for securing order through the medium of appointed representatives" (Metropolitan Police).
What I Learned: I learned that the police force are take precautionary measures to combat terrorism and crime for the upcoming 2012 London Olympics.
